Plethora Mounds

Dr. No was the first James Bond movie made. It also has an unusual opening credit sequence. After listening to the James Bond theme, some Jamaican music starts playing. Things get even stranger when the silhouettes of three blind men walk across the screen while a Jamaican version of Three Blind Mice plays in the background. James Bond has a mission to investigate the death of 006, who was killed in Jamaica. It turns out Dr. No is planning to launch some missiles, but James Bond ends up stopping him at the end. Even though this is the first James Bond movie, Sean Connery manages to show off his trademark coolness that makes him a favorite Bond actor of many fans. The movie has a very slow beginning. Q is nowhere to be found in this movie. Instead, there is a guy who gives James Bond a new kind of gun that has no special features whatsoever. Dr. No is slow at parts, but the fight scenes remain entertaining as do some of Bond's exchanges with some women. It's not the best in the series, but not the worst either.
I give Dr. No **1/2 out of ****.

Queen Foranhour

Before we began watching the Bond movies the only one of the series, that I had seen, was Tomorrow Never Dies. That movie was mediocre at best, so I didn't have to highest of expectations for this movie. The movie begins slow, and continues to be slow for a while. The movie wan't too painful, but nothing outstanding really happened. I'm not sure why they decided to make any sequels. I guess at the time, there was not many other movies like it.

I guess this movie could have been worst. The absence of Q really hurt the film. The fight scenes were crap, at least Sean Connery was cool.
