X-men

Starring Patrick Stewart

Marvel comic's X-men finally hit the big screen this summer, and it sure took long enough. I've waiting for the damn movie since Wizard Magazine first found out that it was in the works. The movie naturally focus'es on Wolverine as he joins the X-men.The other plot involves the battle between Professor X and Magneto. The line up of X-men is this movie, are as follows: Cyclops, Storm, Jean Grey, and later, Wolverine. (Rogue never actually becomes a part of the line-up.) The team battle Magneto is his Brotherhood of evil Mutants: Mystique, Toad, Sabertooth. The X-men must now save New York City.

At first, I was a little sceptical about the actor who was to portray Wolverine. But after seeing the movie, I knew that he was perfect for the role. His only flaw is that he is a little too tall for the role, but other then that, he's perfect. Jean Grey on the other hand, sucked ass. She was a wus. I also don't like how they made her a doctor in the movie. They should have had Dr. Hank McCoy. He didn't have to look like the beast. Thy could have done with over sized hands and feets, like when he was firs introduced in the comic.

Toad was another thing that bothered me. He was much more powerful than he is in the comic. The Toad that I know is a little pansy who hops around and gets his ass handed to him on a regular basis. It was just little unsettling to see him take down the three X-men who are Wolverine. I guess, it's sort of justified, because the X-men needed more of a challenge.

Even with my complaints, the movie was quite enjoyable. I actually went to see it three different times. The movie gets ***1/2 out of ****.
