Finally, after about 16 years, a new Star Wars movie was going to be in theatres. It wasn't big surprise that the hype for this movie was ;arger than any other that I remember. I really do not believe that it was possible to live up to such hype. Fans were saying that it would the greatest movie they had ever seen. Some people camped out for about two weeks outside a movie theatre in L.A., just waiting for the movie tp be released.

The story takes place about 30 years (I'm guessing at that number) before the original Star Wars movie. Liam Neeson plays Qui Gon Jinn (sp?) , a jedi master who is sent as an ambassador to speak with the Trade Confederacy to stop a conflict from happenning. Qui Gon brings along his young jedi apprentice, Obi Won Kenobi (played by Ewan McGregor). The plot thickens as they end up getting their ship damaged while trying to escape the planet, and they end up going to Tatooine. That is where they meet a young child named Anakin Skywalker, who will later grow up to become Darth Vader.

I can sum up why Episode 1 sucked, in about three words: Jar Jar Binx. What the hell was George Lucas thinking?! They should have killed off that long eared freak five minutes after he was introduced. He was too freakin' annoying. Other than that, the movie had bland dialogue, crappy characters, and not enough Ewan McGregor.

It didn't totally suck. The Special Effects were amazing. I recommend that people see this movie for the effects alone. Besides, the Star Wars Trilogy, er...series I guess, is a part of American culture now.
