Halloween H20

Starring Jamie Lee Curtis, and LL Cool J

Halloween is the seventh in the Halloween movie series. All of the movies in the series, with the exception of Halloween 3, dealt with a silent killer who wears a mask named Mike Myers. Jamie Lee Curtis was in the first two Halloween movies and from what research I could gather she was the driving force to get this movie made.
Jamie Lee Curtis is older than in the earlier movies and has a drinking problem. Trouble starts up when Mike Myers kills some random people in the neighborhood. Can she muster up the courage to face a nemesis she thought was vanquished long ago?
Halloween H20 is a very average horror movie. Nothing really jumps out of the movie as something unique, except for the clever ending. The last ten minutes are pretty decent, as is the music in the movie, which mainly consists of John Carpenter's original creepy Halloween theme music from the first Halloween movie. Jamie Lee Curtis does as good a job as one can expect with what she's given, but the plot should have focused more on her and Mike Myers than all of the silly supporting characters, most of whom get knocked off in lame ways.
I give Halloween H20 ** out of ****.

At the end of the last Halloween, Micheal Myers suddenly dissappeared. That movie took place, about 5-10 years before this one. Halloween has always been considered yet another generic slasher movie, along with the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elmstreet. Although, I happen to be a fan of all three series. The difference in the Halloween series is that it manages to maintain a semblance of a storyline. (bare in mind, I say this as a comparason to the other two series.) H20 is sort of a final chapter to the series. I only assume that, because of the ending. Of course, in th last Friday the 13th movie, Jason is banished to Hell. (I would hardly call that a spoiler since the movie is called, "Jason goes to Hell.", and they are currently working on the next Jason movie. I'm not actually surprised by this. I have seen the entire series. Anyway, back to Halloween. It sucked. Not enough people died. I'd also like to add that Mat does not know what he's talking about. I'm the one who knows his horror flicks, not Mat.

** out of ****
