Samual L. Jackson plays a parody of Don King, who is having a little bit of trouble coming up with a decent title bout that lasts more than a single round. He finally decides to hype a white boxer from Boston, who wa the only person to ever knock out the current champ, when they were both amatures. The storyline itself is decent, and allows for some comedy, but the best part of the movie was definately the characters. This movie also happened to feature one of the few performances by Jeff Goldblum, that didn't make me want to murder him with his own fists. Damon Wayans, who I think has been horribly underestimated, due to his many poor career choices. I've always thought that he was hilarious. This movie was funnier than Rocky 4, though it was very close. It gets *** out of **** |
