The people making On Her Majesty's Secret Service had a
bit of a problem on their hands. Sean Connery said he didn't
want to play James Bond again. For some reason, they picked George
Lazenby, who was a model at the time. On Her Majesty's Secret
Service didn't make that much money. Needless to say, George
Lazenby never played the part of Bond. The plot involves Bond
and his bald nemesis from most of the previous movies. The plot
sags in a lot of places, the special effects look off, and the
loss of Connery really hurts the movie. Lazenby isn't as cool,
tries to do a Scottish accent in some scenes, and looks out of
place in almost every scene he's in. On Her Majesty's Secret
Service is slightly better than Thunderball because of the cool
ending. I exactly sure what to expect for this movie. A lot of have people consider George Lazenby to be the worst James Bond, while I have found a website site or two that consider him to be the best. Either way, it had to be better than Casino Royale. It was better, but sadly, that isn't saying much. This one turned out to be like the typical boring James Bond movie, but with out the quality of Sean Connery. The villians seemed to know that they weren't getting to go up against a quality Bond, so they did really even try. Neither did the editor of the movie, forgetting to watch out for such things as continuity, which was apparent in a couple scenes. This movie did have a decent plot, though.
