It is extremely funny. The plot involves Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) coming home after foiling another crime and finds his friend there. They talk and go and have a drink at the bar together. When they come back, some hit men knock Axel out cold and kill his friend.

Axel wakes up and has one thing on his mind- revenge. He recalls that the last place his friend lived was Beverly Hills. He also remembers he worked at an art museum there. So he tells his boss that he's going on a vacation and goes there to find out what the problem is.

Axel's boss warns him not to get involved in the case of who killed his friend. Does Axel listen? Of course not!!

The rest of the movie involves Axel investigating Beverly Hills while he pulls tricks on the local police that follow him to make sure he doesn't do anything with the case. The movie ends with a decent "blast-your-way-through-villain's-hideout" bit.

BEVERLY HILLS COP is an excellent comedy spiced with some action. Watch it. I give BEVERLY HILLS COP **** out of ****.
