Almost Famous

Starring The main character, and Kate Hudson

When Cameron Crowe was in his teens, he got to write for Rolling Stone and toured around with bands, not unlike the main character in Almost Famous. This is essentially a biography of Crowe’s teenage years, with names changed to protect the innocent.

Almost Famous is about a young teen who ends up going on tour to interview a band called Stillwater. Along for the ride are several “band-aids,” one of them being Kate Hudson.

Almost Famous is a really great movie. The music throughout the movie is well done and the plot generally moves at a decent plot. All of the acting is really good and it’s interesting how the main character is pretty much treated as an equal when he follows around the band. Some of the other members of Stillwater are underdeveloped, but Almost Famous is really about the main character’s relationships and interactions with everybody.

I give Almost Famous ***1/2 out of ****.
